Hi! I’m a pre-nursing student who is looking for good study material for the Kaplan Entrance Exam. I have the Kaplan book but heard that it’s not that good to study. I have also taken the TEAS exam before and have their study guide. I was wondering which is better or what you guys used to study? I have to make a 65% or higher! I take it September 17th ? 0 Likes

I was mainly worried about brushing up on basic math since it had been a while. I spent a few weeks doing the practice tests online at Smart Academy and that really helped. I’m the type of person who studies best through practice, so I just took the tests over again to make sure I remembered how to do each type of problem. The math is mainly fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing), a few word problems, and converting fractions to decimals and percentages. I had made the mistake of taking it the first time without studying and did not do well on the math at all as I was super rusty with the basics. After a little practice, it all came back to me and I felt much more confident. I've heard the people say that using the ACT book is good for studying reading/writing, but I just used the Smart Academy tests. I didn’t study much for those sections as they’re mainly about comprehension, knowing the main idea of a passage, what the author was trying to convey, and where to add/remove a sentence. Tricky thing to study for. The science portion was pretty easy and I finished that section really fast. Mostly physio. It’s a good idea to brush up on the body systems and the basics of what they do. Good luck! Edited Aug 12, 2021 by Cuttykupcake 1 Likes
